Initiatives & Insights

The thinking behind the actions — drawn from direct reflections on the organizations and communities that matter most.

“While I volunteered on the farm, ate at the cafe, met some of the community members... I felt moved and motivated to do more for that organization, which was unique for me, because in my day job, almost every day, I'm engaging with a non-profit.”
The Evolution

First volunteered in 2023 as part of an employee resource group activity at the South Dallas farm — a farmers market, café, coffee house, extension farm, and wellness center.

The Outcome

Sought out leadership on LinkedIn, emailed the CEO, and shared volunteer experiences. After meetings with the CEO, board chair, and other board members — voted onto the board six months later.

“We are the first and only non-profit in Dallas that receives children who are removed from situations of abuse, neglect, or other tragedy, before they are placed in foster care.”
The Evolution

CPD began its partnership with Toyota in 2017 when headquarters moved to Plano. Began leading the relationship in 2020 during the pandemic.

The Outcome

Annual work now supports more than $300,000 in financial contributions from Toyota and employees through the company matching program, plus approximately $50,000 in in-kind donations.

“It was my responsibility to design, to plan, and to implement Toyota's volunteer strategy for North America, which includes 14 sites across the country — not only for team members, but also for executives.”
The Evolution

Began leading volunteer strategy in 2020 as the newest and least-tenured member of a three-person team — boots on the ground during the pandemic.

The Outcome

Built and owns two engagement platforms spanning giving, volunteer tracking, rewards, grants, dealer matching, and self-service participation.

“It was established to identify future leaders in the non-profit space in DFW that were under 40, based on their current work and their potential.”
The Evolution

Selected for philanthropic leadership engagement and civic innovation work across Dallas.

The Outcome

Continues regional philanthropy, nonprofit strategy, and mentorship activities.
